Thank you for all who participated in try-outs for our Swim & Dive team. Congratulations to the members of our 2025-2026 Swim Team.  Dive team to be announced on November 17th.


December Meet Recaps

Battlefield Swim & Dive had a busy weekend with two back-to-back meets on December 19 and 20. Battlefield women came out ahead 193 to 93 in the BHS vs. Independence High School meet, while the Men’s team fell with a score of 180 to 106.

Competing against ten local high school teams, the women’s team captured first place in the 2025 Cardinal Classic! The men’s team came in fourth in this highly competitive meet.

On December 13, BHS participated in a tri-meet against Gainesville High School and Unity Reed. Our men’s and women’s teams posted strong times and came out winners of both meets! See right for a link to the meet results.

Congratulations to our 2025-2026 Battlefield High School Swim & Dive team on the start of their season. On December 5-6, our men’s team beat Osbourne Park High School with a score of 180 – 112. The women’s team fell slightly short with a score of 164-135. See right for the link to the complete meet results.

January / February Meet Recaps

Congratulations to the Battlefield Women’s Swim & Dive team on their championship win at the 2026 Cedar Run District Swim & Dive Meet! The team score 572 points besting second place finisher Gainesville High School with 384 points. The Men’s team finished just ten points out of third place. Next up, Regionals!

Battlefield men and women came out victorious during the January 24th swim & dive meet against Osbourn High School. Our seniors were celebrated during the meet on our 2026 Senior Night! Next up, Cedar Run Districts.

Battlefield women started out the new year with a win against Patriot High School with a score of 190 to 115. The Battlefield Men’s team came up short against Patriot High School, 196 to 104.

Alyssa Sagle Wins All-Met Swimmer of the Year Award

Congratulations go out to Alyssa Sagle for being named All-Met Swimmer of the Year. Alyssa had a tremendous Junior campaign and was dominant at the Class 6 State Meet where she won all four of her events and broke the state record in the 100 yard backstroke.

2025 Virginia State Championship

Another amazing swim & dive season is in the books for Battlefield High School. The girls team finished as the State Runner-Up and fell to their rivals at Yorktown. Junior Alyssa Sagle broke the state record in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 52.19. Battlefield also extended the streak to 5 years in a row winning the girls 50 yard freestyle at the state championship. The boys team finished 13th improving 3 spots from 2024.

BHS Girls Win Regionals, Boys Finish Second

Congratulations to the 2025 Lady Bobcats on their fifth regional title. BHS scored 439 points besting Colgan (266 points) and Patriot (252 points) to take the title. The boys team scored 285 points, but fell short of Colgan at 366 points. Both BHS squads qualified several for the state championship in two weeks.

Battlefield Boys and Girls Take District Titles

Extending their undefeated streaks, the Battlefield Boys and Girls Swim & Dive teams showed their strength by capturing District titles. Congratulations to both teams on this tremendous feat!

Undefeated Dual Meet Seasons

Congratulations to the both the boys and girls teams for their undefeated dual meet seasons. This is the firsts District title for the boys since 2020 and the fifth year in a row for the Lady Bobcats. Kudos on an excellent season!

2024 Virginia State Championship

Battlefield finished the season strong and was well represented at the Class 6 State Meet. The girls finished 3 rd with 168 points behind Robinson at 173 and Yorktown with 224 points. The boys squad finished 16th.

Coaching Staff

Head Coach Jessica Dehn
Jessica is an alum of the BHS Swim & Dive program (class of 2011) and is thrilled to be returning to Battlefield as Head Coach. She brings 17 years of experience in coaching both summer & club swim teams and teaching swim lessons. Growing up, Jessica swam locally for NCAP and the Piedmont Tsunamis. She is a Virginia Tech (bachelors) and University of Akron alum (masters).

Assistant Coach Chase Miller
Chase is an alum of the BHS Swim & Dive program (class of 2021) and is excited to be returning to Battlefield as an Assistant Coach! She brings 7 years of experience in coaching swimmers ages 3-18. Chase swam locally for NCAP, OCCS, and the Dominion Valley Sharks. She served as the Head Coach for the Dominion Valley Sharks for the summer in 2023.
